Walking into Wine Girl is like walking into a vacation.
Super bright and airy, the space has the inviting atmosphere of a boho bar in Southern California. White brick walls and neutral tones in wood and wicker furniture are complemented by natural textures and splashes of greenery. It’s a space you won’t be able to take your eyes off. Every corner is highly instagrammable, especially the popular nook complete with swings!
The bar boasts twelve wines on tap, 8 reds and 4 whites. Owners Amy Mason and Trevor Johnston opted for kegs for a lot of their wine offerings, allowing them not only to be more sustainable but also to offer guests the option to sample different wines before ordering.
Wine Girl’s list of wines on tap is rotating, but there is a large focus on California, Oregon and Washington wines. It also offers four beers on tap, three of which are local craft brews from O.H.S.O. Brewery and Huss Brewing Company. Although the emphasis of Wine Girl is on kegged wine by the glass, it does have a complete list of tasty wines that are available for purchase by the bottle.
The wine bar does have a list of food offerings as well, including bites like charcuterie boards and ceviche served in a coconut, and entrees like prosciutto salad and shrimp platters. And of course, for dessert, more wine.
Despite having opened during a global pandemic, this local gem is certainly making a name for itself in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale. The bar offers plenty of space for wine lovers to sprawl out and socially distance, and large garage doors open to bring the outdoors in with lots of fresh air.
