Upgrade your movie date to VIP status.
FilmBar has been a local favorite since it opened in 2011. The indie theater is known for its diverse selection of films, including indie and foreign films, cult favorites, classics, retro and locally-made flicks. Whatever your taste, FilmBar probably has it on the roster.
And with its recent move to The Pemberton PHX as its new permanent home, FilmBar is now repurposing its old location for a VIP movie experience. Now, movie lovers can enjoy their favorite films in a screening room all to themselves! Gather your close friends for an awesome movie reunion or surprise a date with their favorite flick for a one-of-a-kind viewing experience.
Guests can rent FilmBar’s new Granskott screening room for groups of up to 10 people, or the original Sombrero auditorium for groups of up to 20. Beer, wine, hard seltzers, and soda are available for purchase at the bar, as well as plenty of snacks like popcorn, tamales and candy. As an added bonus, guests are welcome to bring their own food into the theater, so you won’t even have to sneak any snacks in!
Showtimes are available at 5pm, 5:30pm, 7:30pm and 8pm, Wednesdays through Sundays. Rentals cost $127 (total, not per person) for the Granskott room and $152 for the Sombrero room, fees included, and reservations can be made online. Masks are required in the lobby and bathrooms and, while outside food is okay to bring to the theater, no outside drinks are allowed.
Prefer to get your fill of classic films from home, instead? FilmBar also has an online streaming service available so you can catch those indie flicks right from your sofa.
