New brew alert!
This month, Arizona celebrates the 11th annual Arizona Beer Week. But this year, instead of just one week, the event is being celebrated during the whole month! In light of Covid-related uncertainties, the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild decided to extend the event and celebrate by region. Northern AZ celebrated February 1-7, and now it’s Central AZ’s turn until February 21. Beer Week will finish out the month in Southern AZ, from February 22-28.
In addition to a whole host of new artisanal beers from our favorite Arizona breweries, this year’s Beer Week also features a special collaborative recipe called Rebuild the Guild. Over 20 breweries participated in this special brew to benefit the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild, which suffered financial losses from cancelled events. You can find the full list of breweries that will have the Rebuild the Guild IPA here.
There are loads of new brews to taste before this month ends. And, as always, you can expect some delicious surprises. Check out some of this month’s newest releases from five of our favorite spots!
1. SanTan Brewing Company
SanTan has some new seasonal brews for Valentine’s Weekend. Try their new red ale, Night of the Living Red, or their Cherry Poppins porter. The brewery will also be serving up the Rebuild the Guild IPA.
2. Huss Brewing Company
To support the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild, Huss Brewing Company brewed a tropical version of the Rebuild the Guild beer: Rebuild The Guild Tropical Hazy IPA. Crowd favorite Cenpho Citrus IPA is also back in the mix at their Uptown and Tempe locations.
3. Wren House Brewing
Check out Designer Duvet, a hazy DIPA with a subtle sweetness and a dry finish. Another new brew, Countryman, is a saison beer with notes of banana bread with a little subtle kick of spice and lemon zest.
4. Front Pourch Brewing
Front Pourch’s newest brew is called Nellsonnn! It’s a hazy IPA featuring Nelson Sauvin, with fruity notes of melon, pineapple and citrus.
5. Arizona Wilderness Brewing Co.
Arizona Wilderness Brewing Co. is serving up lots of new beers, some for a limited time. Recently released beers include AZ Dreamsicle (DIPA), Citrus Valley (TIPA), BA Woodchute Barleywine, Muir’s Mûre (mixed culture sour) and Warmth (mixed culture sour). The brewery will release Heart Shaped Box (cherry chocolate pastry stout) on February 14 and Ro-Ro (DIPA) on February 18.
