Phoenix’s favorite tiki bar is bringing back the “Best of Menus Past” for a limited time.
UnderTow opened in 2016 and quickly became one of Phoenix’s premier bars with their creative and exotic cocktails. After an extended closure due to the pandemic, the popular bar decided to move house to a new location, which is currently under construction. In the meantime, Phoenix locals can get their fix of tropical cocktails at UnderTow’s new pop-up bar, located in the Sands venue at Hotel Valley Ho.
The pop-up, which opened on January 14, will be UnderTow’s temporary home until its new permanent location opens in March. The pop-up is open four days a week, Thursday through Sunday. And the best part? This particular menu is a special tribute to the “Best of Menus Past,” so UnderTow fans can temporarily order their favorites that have been retired from recent menus!
The current list features 20 of UnderTow’s most popular concoctions, including the famous (and quite literally) ‘Smoking Cannon,’ which UnderTow says was its top-selling cocktail for over 3 years. Also included on the menu is ‘Never Drink from a Skull,’ which involves nothing less than Plantation O.F.T.D. Overproof Rum, Del Maguey Vida Mezcal, passion fruit, UnderTow Orgeat, as well as a mixture of fresh bergamot, pineapple, and lime juices.
UnderTow’s handcrafted cocktails are rather extravagant and feature rare rums from around the world, and rest assured – they look just as delicious and exotic as they sound.
And the tropical experience doesn’t stop there – having a drink at UnderTow is like stepping into an island oasis. Lush greenery and tropical music fill the space, with tiki torches and a smoke machine adding some extra flair to the experience. It’s most certainly the best way to end your workweek!
As an added bonus, UnderTow is hosting local creatives to showcase their talents on the weekends from 1pm to 5pm (think live tiki carving). Reservations aren’t required to visit the artist pop-ups, but they’re highly recommended if guests want to stay for a drink.
So, who’s ready for a little island escape?
