About Rotraut
Rotraut-Klein Moquay (born 1938) is a German-French visual artist. She was once married with French artist Yves Klein. Rotraut’s sculptures and paintings have been displayed frequently at Art Basel in both Switzerland and in the US. In 2018, Rotraut’s work was featured in an exhibition at the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art. Many of her works have been sold at auction, including the sculpture UNTITLED which sold for $225,000 at Sotheby’s.
Rotraut specializes in a distinct non-objective style that is nonetheless grounded in organic shapes, oftentimes having a real connection to the world.
