One of Phoenix’s most famous local Mexican restaurants is closing its doors after 27 years in business. Juan’s Authentic Mexican Food broke the news on their social media page, where they posted a heartfelt message for all of their loyal diners.
“After 27 happy and successful years, we’re sad to announce we will be closing February 19, 2022. We will miss you all very much, and we’re thankful for all the love and support. We’re taking so many wonderful memories with us. Thanks for allowing us to serve you delicious food all these years. We love you. This is not a goodbye, but a thank you!”, they wrote.
They also added that the restaurant has been sold to new owners, although they didn’t specify if they’ll be opening a Mexican restaurant in its place or a whole new concept in the same space.
The family-owned eatery operated since 1994, where Juan would serve authentic, homemade food that won over the heart and taste buds of hundreds of Phoenicians. Foodies would drive down from many parts of Arizona just to try their green chili, which we will definitely miss.
If you’re looking for other Mexican restaurants in the area, here’s a delicious roundup.
