Good news for thrill-seekers!
After nearly a year of being closed, Six Flags announced on Friday that it will open for the 2021 season. This goes for all 26 amusement and water parks in its system, rides included. And you know what that means: Hurricane Harbor is back!
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Phoenix is set to open on March 13, which means locals will be able to raft down Mammoth Falls or hit the surf at Hurricane Bay in no time. The water park, the biggest one in Arizona in fact, has more than 15 rides and attractions for kids, families, and thrill seekers. And with this new season comes the debut of a whole new section of the park.

Paradise Island, a massive expansion project, will give guests an extra 12,000 square feet of swimming and activity space as well as a new spot to get some post-swim snacks. The new attraction features floating lily pads, a water volleyball area, a water basketball court, and lots more shade and lounge seating. Altogether Paradise Island adds another 42,000 square feet to the park!
In preparation for welcoming guests back, Six Flags has implemented a plethora of new safety protocols following local, state and federal guidelines. In addition to limited capacity, social distancing markers, and enhanced cleaning and sanitation measures, the park has also set up contactless payments and contactless temperature and security screenings. Guests will be required to wear masks and make a reservation before visiting. You can see the full list of protocols here.
So, who’s ready for some new thrills?
