The holiday season is upon us, and there’s no better way to kick off the season than being entranced by the glow of festive lights. Spend quality time with loved ones in the natural beauty of the desert, littered with thousands of dreamy luminarias and flickering lights, and festive holiday plant displays.
Sip on tasty seasonal drinks as you walk through the trails of the Desert Botanical Garden accompanied by holiday melodies. While the usual dinner buffet will not be available this year, visitors can make dinner reservations at Gertrude’s Restaurant, and limited grab-and-go food options will be available for those who want a quick bite.
Plus, new this year, the holiday also includes an extra layer of beauty with the bold and lyrical large-scale sculptures of Playing with Stars by Rotraut interweaving gracefully with the sparkles of the luminaria bags throughout the trails and Ottosen Gallery.
Also new this holiday season, head over to Webster Auditorium and take part in building an enchanted winter village each night of Luminaria. Bring your creativity and use elements like stones, moss and other enchanted accessories on this community project for kids and the young at heart.
Tickets for these magical evenings are $34.95 for adults and $14.95 for kids. The event will run on select nights starting December 9 through December 31, and there will be a special member-only weekend at the beginning of December (December 1 – 4).
