Bad news! No Oktoberfest this year.
No Hofbräuhaus mood this year. The exciting Four Peaks Oktoberfest, which was scheduled for October 8 to 10 at Tempe Beach Park, has been canceled due to COVID-19 concerns and the rise in cases of the Delta variant.
One of the event organizers confirmed the sad news:
“Given the current situation the Delta variant, potential local government restrictions, and the financial burden to produce the event, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Four Peaks Oktoberfest.”
This has been a long-awaited event that took place every year, and that would transform Tempe Beach Park into a little piece of Germany. This year they would’ve celebrated their 49th edition.
However, organizers and bear fans hope there will be better luck in 2022.
“We look forward to sharing live music, brats, and beer with you next year for the 50th annual Four Peaks Oktoberfest!” they wrote at the end of their press release.
This is not the first event to be canceled in the last few weeks; the Arizona Taco Festival has also been postponed.
