Phoenix is about as far from Shelby’s Birmingham, as you can get. Think desert sunsets instead of industrial skylines, palm trees instead of cobblestones. But now, the world of Peaky Blinders is making its way to the Valley, as Candlelight: Peaky Blinders brings the series’ brooding soundtrack to Phoenix Art Museum’s Whiteman Hall, with thousands of candles setting the scene.
It’s the latest addition to Candlelight’s growing lineup of tributes. After Disney Princess, WB Horror and The Lord of the Rings, things are about to get a lot moodier.

Need a refresher? Peaky Blinders is the BBC drama created by Steven Knight that ran for six seasons, from 2013 to 2022. It follows Tommy Shelby and his family through 1920s Birmingham, an industrial city in England’s West Midlands, just after World War I. And the story didn’t stop there: it returned in 2026 with the film The Immortal Man.
Then there’s the music. The show is known for pairing its period setting with modern rock, which makes it a natural fit for dark, powerful arrangements by candlelight. You’ll hear “Red Right Hand” by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, the show’s opening theme, and Arctic Monkeys’ “Do I Wanna Know?” Sounds like a plan, right?
