The Butterfly Wonderland is the largest conservatory in the country.
This Phoenix’s hidden gem is the perfect experience for guests of all ages and nature lovers. Butterfly Wonderland transports every visitor to a world of butterflies and other rainforest animals.
Walk among thousands of live butterflies of 70 species strolling through their conservatory, learn about the Monarch migration during a captivating 3D movie, and get up close to reptiles and birds that inhabit rainforests across the world.
The conservatory also features a pond with dozens of colorful Koi fish that are fed every morning at 9:30 while early visitors witness. They also have unexpected edible insects stations where children and adults can learn about “entomophagy,” the practice of eating insects. Some of these treats include chips made with cricket protein, chocolate-covered ants, coconut brittle mealworms, and scorpion lollipops.
If you’re looking for a “normal snack,” Butterfly Wonderland has a café with sweet and savory snacks and beverages.
Every month, the conservatory organizes different and exciting events visitors can get involved in. These include educational talks, yoga in the rainforest, live music concerts, and movie nights. You can check out their calendar here.
